LONI Systems
LONI provides 12 high-performance computing clusters that will be interconnected via the LONI fiber backbone and dedicated to furthering the efforts of researchers throughout Louisiana. Each of these systems has been or will be deployed at a LONI member institution. Consulation and administrative support for the LONI systems is provided by HPC @ LSU
LONI Supercomputers
- 1 Dell 50 teraflop Intel Linux Cluster housed at the state's Information Systems Building (ISB)
- Queen Bee:
A 50.7 TFlops peak performance cluster from Dell. Contains 680 nodes, each with 2 Quad-Core 2.33 GHz Intel Xeon 64bit processors running Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) v4. Memory is 8 GB RAM per node. In June 2007, Queen Bee ranked 23rd on the Top500 list of fastest supercomputers in the world (224th on the June 2010 list). Half of Queen Bee's computational cycles is contributed to the TeraGrid community as LONI joins TeraGrid. Status: open for general use to TeraGrid and LONI users.

A 4.772 TFlops peak performance cluster from Dell. Contains 128 nodes, each with 2 Dual-Core 2.33 GHz Intel Xeon 64bit processors running Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) v4. Memory is 4 GB RAM per node. Housed at LSU. Status: open for general use.

A 4.772 TFlops peak performance cluster from Dell. Contains 128 nodes, each with 2 Dual-Core 2.33 GHz Intel Xeon 64bit processors running Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) v4. Memory is 4 GB RAM per node. Housed at ULL. Status: open for general use.

A 4.772 TFlops peak performance cluster from Dell. Contains 128 nodes, each with 2 Dual-Core 2.33 GHz Intel Xeon 64bit processors running Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) v4. Memory is 4 GB RAM per node. Housed at Tulane. Status: open for general use.

A 4.772 TFlops peak performance cluster from Dell. Contains 128 nodes, each with 2 Dual-Core 2.33 GHz Intel Xeon 64bit processors running Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) v4. Memory is 4 GB RAM per node. Housed at UNO. Status: open for general use.

A 4.772 TFlops peak performance cluster from Dell. Contains 128 nodes, each with 2 Dual-Core 2.33 GHz Intel Xeon 64bit processors running Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) v4. Memory is 4 GB RAM per node. Housed at Latech. Status: open for general use.

A 4.772 TFlops peak performance cluster from Dell. Contains 128 nodes, each with 2 Dual-Core 2.33 GHz Intel Xeon 64bit processors running Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) v4. Memory is 4 GB RAM per node. Housed at SU. Status: not operational due to environmental issues.

- Bluedawg: A 0.851 TFlops peak performance constellation from IBM. Contains 13 nodes, each with 8 1.9 GHz IBM POWER5 processors running AIX v5.3. Memory is 16 GB RAM per node. Housed at Latech. Status: open for general use.
- Ducky: A 0.851 TFlops peak performance constellation from IBM. Contains 13 nodes, each with 8 1.9 GHz IBM POWER5 processors running AIX v5.3. Memory is 16 GB RAM per node. Housed at Tulane. Status: open for general use.
- Zeke: A 0.851 TFlops peak performance constellation from IBM. Contains 13 nodes, each with 8 1.9 GHz IBM POWER5 processors running AIX v5.3. Memory is 16 GB RAM per node. Housed at ULL. Status: open for general use.
- Neptune: A 0.851 TFlops peak performance constellation from IBM. Contains 13 nodes, each with 8 1.9 GHz IBM POWER5 processors running AIX v5.3. Memory is 16 GB RAM per node. Housed at UNO. Status: open for general use.
- LaCumba: A 0.851 TFlops peak performance constellation from IBM. Contains 13 nodes, each with 8 1.9 GHz IBM POWER5 processors running AIX v5.3. Memory is 16 GB RAM per node. Housed at SU. Status: open for general use.
